Stop forwarding port 3671, says the KNX Association
The KNX Association's own security note says what every villa owner with remote access should hear, and here is our take on it and what we specify.
ELV design and supply for private villas in the UAE, since 2020
Send us a villa's floor plans. Within hours every system is designed room by room and priced line by line, with the reason for each device written beside it.
Automation, WiFi, CCTV, intercom, door access and audio, for the interior design and fit-out firms, contractors and consultants who build villas, and the owners who live in them. We supply the hardware; the installer fits it.

Hardware we design with
The design is the same whoever holds the villa. What changes is what you need from it.
Lighting and climate, WiFi, cameras, the gate, the front door and the music usually come from six suppliers. We design them together, so the wiring, the walls and the bill agree.
Lighting scenes, climate, curtains and presence, on the open KNX standard, so no single brand ever owns your house.
Every room covered, staff quarters included, by access points wired back to the rack: roughly one for every 100 m².
A ring of cameras that watches the boundary of the plot rather than the family, recording 31 days by default.
A station at the gate, answered from the room screens and your phone, with a compact screen in the kitchen for staff.
A smart lock on the main door as standard, and more doors only when you ask for them.
Music in the rooms you live in, with the amplifiers out of sight in the rack.
One design, written three ways, so everyone on the project reads the same villa with the same numbers.

You see two rooms at full depth before you commit, and the whole villa once you do. The complete documents open behind a confidentiality agreement.
A floor plan PDF and your answers go in. The design and a priced bill come out, the same day.
If we can't read a plan, we say exactly what is missing. Then a short questionnaire, ideally answered with your client: tick what each room should have, from dimmed light to motorised curtains, then a few answers for each system.
The rules place devices room by room, size the backbone and run eight checks across the bill. An engineer at Homestat reads the design before it is released to you.
Tap a line to see the rule that placed it and the answer that triggered it. Remove one, and the bill re-prices itself with an undo. Nothing is typed into a bill by hand.
Then you order the hardware, and your installer wires, programs and commissions it from our documents. We never install. Every step in detail

From the working software, with a demo villa and a demo price book.
Six systems, each priced from the parts your villa needs, each with its own subtotal on the bill. The wiring, installation and commissioning are your installer's, quoted from our documents. Your own bill arrives in hours.
How we priceEvery part of every system at MSRP, system by system, with the design, the three document sets and the engineer's review.
Wiring, conduit and containment, installation, programming and commissioning, priced by your installer from our documents.
Your switches cost nothing. Keep any series that matches your sockets, and a small module behind each one brings it into the system. If you would rather have one of ours, we add it to your pack at its price.
Keeping your own switchesEach warm patch is a community where we have finished villas, in the UAE, Qatar and Oman. We only show a community once there are at least two, so no single home can be picked out.

How a complete villa ELV package is priced in the UAE, system by system, what the price includes and leaves out, and the five choices that move the number the most.
Matter 1.5 brought cameras but not one unified smart home, so here is where the standard stands and why a villa still needs a wired backbone.
Eight questions to ask of any villa ELV bill, from the reason behind each line to power supplies, storage, spare ways, scope, VAT and the kind of price you see.
The KNX Association makes its case for demand-controlled ventilation, and we explain why a CO₂ sensor belongs in the majlis before a screen does.
Why the switch line on a Homestat bill reads AED 0, how a binary input turns the switches you already chose into KNX controls, and when a keypad is worth it.
